To have a video stream from your own website and not from YouTube or some other video sharing system it can be complicated.

It requires you to FTP video files to the server at the hosting level and then adding code to a page to display it. You have to convert them to FLV or WMV format and upload to your web server and then add code on a page to display them.

YOU DO, there is no webmaster required, but we will add 4 pages for you if sent in WORD format.

We do this to help you along while you learn how to use the system yourself.

Sign up for Google Analytics

Once your account is activated, login to Google Analytics and setup your profile.

At the end of setting up your profile you will be given some code to add to your website, copy this code.

Edit this file on your website:
/*XOOPSINSTALL*/themes/*YOURTHEME*/theme.html

(/**/ denotes: This will be different for your website.)

Scroll to the end of the file and find:

Paste the code immediately BEFORE this tag. Save the file.

Browse to your xoops website administration go to:
System Admin >> Preferences >> General Settings
Scroll down to:
'Update module template .html files from themes/your theme/templates directory?' and select 'Yes'

Browse to a couple of pages on your website, then go back to Google Analytics and click 'Check Status'. The status should now say 'Waiting for Data'.

If it still says 'Tracking Not Installed' Google Analytics cannot see the code, please make sure you have followed all the steps above.

When all goes well it takes about 2-3 days to have the domain, hosting and CMS backend in place.

Another 1-2 days to customize a theme for the CMS if you sellected it the day of purchase or soon after.

Another 1-2 days to add your 4 pages of content and feedback form after you emailed them to us in WORD or PDF format.

Note: If you control your own domain name and or hosting it could take longer depending on how long it takes for the domain name and hosting to get setup on your end.

Theme refers to a set of files which control the HTML generation/presentation. For each request the CMS and it’s modules create the data as a data structure (associative array or object). The theme layer takes this data and creates HTML. It also has css files to control styling.

Template in the context of a theme are files with the html code, with placeholders for actual data. in the case of php templates the placeholders are php variables. Template files contain the html generated for a particular piece of content like node, block etc.
